Diode laser treatment uses laser light beams to target areas of hyperpigmentation or vascular blemishes. The laser works by heating the melanin or blood vessels causing the blemish to create controlled damage to the area. Surrounding tissue is left unharmed during the process due to the precision of the diode lasers. Diode laser therapy can be used to improve some of the following skin concerns:
While targeting the cause of skin imperfections, the diode lasers can also promote new collagen production for stronger, smoother skin.
After treatment, patients might experience redness and swelling. Over the next few days to weeks, the treated areas will naturally be removed to reveal new, improved skin. Patients with vascular veins can notice vessels greatly reduced in size for improved pigmentation. New skin may appear pink at first and be extra sensitive, so a daily sunscreen should be used. Multiple treatments may be needed for optimal results.
